In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene’s devastating landfall, local businesses have rallied to support Western North Carolina communities affected by the storm. The hurricane caused widespread flooding, power outages, and significant damage to homes and infrastructure, leaving many residents in urgent need of assistance. In response, a growing number of South End businesses are stepping up to collect donations, supplies, and financial aid to send relief to those in need.
From local pet supply stores to breweries, business owners are using their storefronts as donation collection hubs. These efforts are not only providing a way for community members to contribute, but they are also demonstrating the power of small businesses in times of crisis. Many are using their social media platforms to spread awareness, coordinate with local charities, and organize donation drives for items such as non-perishable food, water, blankets, and hygiene products.

Triple C Brewing and HopFly Brewing are drop-off points for essential supplies, especially water. They are partnering with BirdFoot, who will be making trips every day this week to deliver donations to those in need. The Jam CLT will also be collecting donations at their classes held at the aforementioned breweries this week.
Adair Style Studio is accepting essential supplies and monetary donations. Check their Instagram for more information.
PetWants is taking donations through their Give.Match.Feed pet food drive program, and they will be matching all donations dollar for dollar in dry food.
Wooden Robot Brewery is urging for emergency donations, including water, baby needs, hydration packets, toiletries, socks and underwear. They are currently not accepting monetary donations, but will accept gift cards to places such as Walmart to purchase supplies.
Patagonia Charlotte is serving as a drop-off spot for critically needed supplies, including cleanup supplies such as flat shovels, crowbars and prybars, hammers, chainsaws, roofing nails, wire brushes and more. They are also looking for personal need items, such as baby wipes, non-perishable food, toilet paper, solar chargers, and more.
LilBelle Boutique is donating 10% of purchases made this week to Samaritan's Purse, located in Boone, N.C.
Kenna Kunijo Salon is partnering with Operation Airdrop to collect supplies for those in need. They are asking for hydration packs, diapers, trash bags, manual can openers, sunscreen, sanitizer wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and more. They cannot accept the following items: used clothes, water, hazmat, most chemicals, fuel, or flammable items.
Rumble Boxing will be accepting donations all week for those affected by Hurricane Helene at this link. Rumble Boxing members that donate $15 or more will get a free guest pass for a friend, and non-members who donate $15 or more will get to come to their Saturday, 10/5, class at 11 a.m. for free.
Arrichion Hot Yoga is hosting a special donation based mystery stone yoga class (a fun yoga flow class for all levels) on Saturday, 10/5. They will be accepting at $15 minimum donation. All proceeds will go to Red Cross of North Carolina.
Dram and Draught is accepting bottled water donations 10/1 and 10/2. Drop off any time during business hours inside the front door or outside if they are not yet open.
Not Just Coffee Atherton is collecting essential item donations for Operation Airdrop, including first aid supplies, trash bags, cleaning supplies, paper plates, bug spray, and more.
The Rose Honky Tonk, Slate, and All American Pub are partnering together to collect bottled water, pet food, non-perishable food items, and cleaning supplies through October 8.
Cousins is partnering with Operation Airdrop and BOMA Greater Charlotte to collect essential items, including powdered sports drinks and hydration packets, baby formula, plastic sheeting and tarps, trash bags, plastic utensils, and more. All donations can be delivered to the management office located in the main lobby of The RailYard.
Glory Days Apparel is dedicating a portion of their sales this week to the Red Cross. Additionally, they have partnered with designer Cody Weiler to create Carolina Strong t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies for purchase. All proceeds from these items will be donated directly to the NC Disaster Relief Fund.
Hellenic Greek Kitchen is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to collect food and monetary donations through October 14. The biggest needs are canned entrees, canned fish or meat, peanut butter, low-sodium canned soups, canned dry beans, canned fruit in juice, and low-sodium vegetables. Bottled water is also appreciated and accepted.
Broken Promises is hosting a WNC Disaster Relief Fundraiser on 10/1 featuring a performance from Erica Chanel and friends. All performance tips plus their pay is being donated. Additionally, Broken Promises is accepting donations including bottled water and gallon-sized waters, diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, flashlights, batteries, hand sanitizer, first aid kids, and blankets.
The Invigory is collecting much-needed supplies through Sunday, 10/6. Anyone who donates $50+ will receive a free Core Treatment. Suggested items include water, non-perishable foods, manual can openers, trash bags, hand sanitizer, and more.
On Thursday, October 10, Strands and Spurs will be donating all proceeds made at the salon to families affected by Hurricane Helene.
