HIIT Workouts
No matter what your fitness level, any of these South End studios specializing in high intensity interval training (HIIT) will get your heart pumping.
Push your limits with a HIIT workout perfectly balanced with strength, cardio and recovery. Spots like the Red Room at Barry’s Bootcamp, HOTWORX, MADabolic and Orangetheory Fitness are specially designed to burn fat, build strength and endurance, and improve metabolism.
F45 Training, Sweat Method, Iron Tribe and Volofit are more focused on functional HIIT, which incorporates everyday movements that help build total body muscle, increase mobility and improve overall health.
SPENGA offers a different kind of HIIT workout, focused on what they define as the three pillars of fitness: every workout session includes a combination of spin, strength and yoga. And Fit Atelier, a local fitness clothing boutique, provides a variety or aerobic exercise classes, like Bosubod (using the bosu ball), Bounce’d (using the mini rebounder trampoline), Toned (a fast-moving toning class) and The Beat (HIIT dance cardio).
Boxing
Boxing-based workouts can provide a nice blend of cardio, strength training and fun to your fitness regimen. Add some punch to your workouts at RockBox Fitness or Rumble Boxing, which offer fun, fast-paced workouts that incorporate the skills of boxing, resistance training and functional fitness.
Yoga & Pilates
Improve your strength, flexibility, balance and mind-body connection while building and toning muscle at a yoga or pilates class. Arrichion Hot Yoga is the go-to studio for yoga in South End, but they offer more than just that. You’ll find everything from deep stretch, flow yoga, and hot yoga or pilates to circuit training classes—or a combination of both.
BK Pilates and Core704 offer intense, resistance-based group workouts utilizing custom reformer pilates workout machines. Iron Butterfly Pilates is for one-on-one or small group private sessions that push people to the next level physically and mentally through the practice of pilates.
While [solidcore] isn’t specifically yoga or pilates, it’s similar in that it utilizes a signature workout machine to build and strengthen your core, mental resilience and full-body strength. It’s great for a primary workout or as a supplement to your training routine.
HOTWORX offers pilates, barre, and yoga-based classes, in addition to HIIT workouts, in their state-of-the-art infrared saunas that are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
Kika Stretch Studio also offers assisted deep stretch sessions that will help you prepare for a workout or recover from a tough one.

If you prefer to do your own workouts on your own schedule, you’re not far from an approachable and affordable gym that’s perfect for that.
