The Charlotte Urban Design Center will host a free film screening of The Pruitt-Igoe Myth followed by a panel discussion on Thursday, August 31st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Discussion will focus on the complex urban design lessons of Pruitt-Igoe’s failure, and Charlotte’s evolving, equitable approach to the design and implementation of affordable housing and community spaces where residents thrive.

Marc Manack (AIA, NCARB, Assoc. Professor at the David R. Ravin School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte) and Miles O. Vaughn (Strategic Partnerships Manager for the Dept. of Housing & Neighborhood Services, City of Charlotte) will provide commentary and moderate audience questions after the film. Popcorn and snacks will be provided!
