DOUBLE TAKE is a sculpture that celebrates Lowe’s use of innovative materials and contemporary design by alluding to the intersection of technology, materials and home.
Dichroic glass, offset printing, paradcord and fiber optic lighting are combined to create a layered weaving that showcases Lowe’s innovation and creativity. The combined weaving and use of fiber optic lighting nods to the warmth and welcome of home. Printed on top of the 13 dichroic glass panels is a contemporary pattern that finds inspiration in the Lowe’s gable, found in the Lowe’s logo.
On a broader level, the use of contemporary materials and the simple technology of weaving in Double Take represents how technology has continued to evolve, changing the world around us.
