During the early 1900s, the streetcar was a widespread form of transportation… that is until the American Automobile industry began dismantling it. Join us as we learn how one of the most popular modern inventions shaped our transportation networks, and ultimately, our cities.

We will begin the night by watching a 55-minute documentary film by Martha Olson and Jim Klein titled Taken for a Ride. We will then engage in a studio-lead discussion about the current condition of transportation in the City of Charlotte.
