Your Guide to Live Music in South End

It's time to groove.

The strum of a bass, the beat of a drum, a cheering crowd – nothing quite compares to a live musical performance. With multiple hosts for live music and frequent festivals, you don’t have to look far to find a show in South End. You may find yourself at a busy bar, at picnic table outside of a brewery, in a low-key coffee shop or sitting on a hay bale at a pop-up venue. Here are a few places where you can regularly hear live music:


The Music Yard at SouthBound

Amos' South End

There isn't a bad seat in the house at Amos'. Established in 1990, the venue has two stories and a tiered mezzanine. The who's who of music has played at Amos', including John Legend, Hootie and the Blowfish, John Mayer, Chris Stapleton, Firehouse, Cheryl Crow, the Beastie Boys, and Snoop Dogg. With a capacity around 700 people, Amos’ gives concert goers opportunity to see some the hottest rising stars in an intimate comfortable setting. Amos’ is also home some of Charlotte’s favorite local bands and proudly promotes the local music scene.

The Music Yard at SouthBound

Nestled between Mac's Speed Shop and SouthBound, The Music Yard features both an intimate indoor space with self-pour beer and wine and a full bar, as well as a large outdoor, lawn-style concert venue open during warmer months. Enjoy a variety of genres in the boutique venue every week, and be sure to check out the attached speakeasy bar, the Backstage Lounge. Brewery Vibes

Each South End brewery features live bands and DJs throughout the week and weekend. Catch local bands while sipping on your favorite craft brew in a relaxed setting where dogs and families are always welcome! Keep an eye on the social pages of Triple C, Sycamore, Suffolk Punch, Wooden Robot, HopFly, Trolley Barn, and Resident Culture for upcoming events. 

SouthBound

So-Cal inspired food and live music, name a better duo. SouthBound offers both every Tuesday and Thursday, so fill up on tacos and good vibes at the restaurant next to The Music Yard.

The Common Market

Experience beer shop meets deli meets modern-day convenience store at The Common Market, where late night quesadillas and an eclectic mix of beers and wines will satisfy everyone. With space upstairs, plenty of comfy seating indoors, and a huge patio, The Common Market is the perfect live music listening spot. The upscale bodega often hosts free live jazz (paired with $5 wine tastings!) every second and fourth Thursday of the month, in additional their usual lineup of great local acts. Small Bar South End

Small Bar is just that, a small bar with a big personality. Listen to live tunes in the unpretentious space with a large outdoor sitting area, as the neighborhood's favorite dive bar offers live tunes every weekend. 

The Wine Loft

The Wine Loft is an upscale Wine Bar offering a variety of wines by the glass and by the bottle, a full menu of small plates and desserts, craft cocktails and local beer selections, and live music every Friday and Saturday night!
